Jukka is Dottir’s Chair of the Board and one of the founders of the firm. He is a Partner in our Corporate and M&A practice but works comfortably across several practice areas.​

Jukka is an experienced corporate and technology lawyer. His transactional work focuses on equity financing of growth companies, and he is the counsel of choice for many Finnish and foreign VC funds, as well as target companies, in technology-driven financing rounds. He also regularly advises on cross-border exits, private M&A, First North IPOs as well as corporate governance.​

Due to his background in IT contracting, Jukka also advises clients on their contractual arrangements. In addition, Jukka's practice covers dispute resolution across the fields of his expertise.​

Membrane Finance

Dottir advised the sellers in the acquisition of Membrane Finance by Paxos.

Membrane Finance is an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) based and licensed in Finland, and one of the first to publish MiCA-compliant stablecoin in the EU.

Paxos is the leading regulated blockchain and tokenization infrastructure platform. Following this acquisition, Paxos will be a fully licensed EMI in Finland and the EU. Paxos issues trusted USD-backed stablecoins and partners with leading global enterprises to tokenize, custody and trade assets – its solutions are used by companies like PayPal and Mastercard.

Oddlygood

Oddlygood, a Nordic leader in plant-based foods, has acquired the pioneering British plant-based company, Rude Health. Dottir advised Oddlygood throughout the process.

In recent years, Oddlygood's revenue has grown by approximately 40 percent annually. In addition to accelerating the company's growth, this partnership unites two innovative companies on a mission to elevate the standard of plant-based food and beverages. The transaction represents a significant milestone for Oddlygood, marking another step toward its ambition to become one of the leading plant-based companies in the UK and Europe.

Documill Oy

Dottir advised the shareholders of Documill Oy on the sale of the company to UK-based Ascendx Cloud Ltd.

“We were very pleased with the diligent yet efficient way Dottir’s team guided us through this rather complex cross-border M&A project,” said Mika Könnölä, CEO of Documill and one of the sellers.

Documill helps Salesforce-powered enterprises to digitalize their core document processes. It does so through company-specific workflows, collaborative document creation, the inclusion of process-related tasks such as approvals and e-signing, and highly flexible document automation capabilities.

GTT Strategic Ventures

Dottir advised the lead investor GTT Strategic Ventures in the financing round of Seaber.io, a Finnish maritime software company specialising in the digitalisation of scheduling and chartering processes for bulk shipping. The round was also participated by Counterview Capital, Lifeline Ventures and Tesi.

Seaber.io stands out for its advanced expertise in integrating artificial intelligence, industry best practices and machine learning to enable shipping companies to optimise their scheduling and pre-fixture processes. GTT Strategic Ventures is the investment arm of the GTT Group.

QOCO Systems Oy

Dottir advised QOCO Systems Oy, a leading provider of aviation software solutions, in its multi-million-euro financing transaction with Juuri Partners. The investment will be used to accelerate QOCO’s international expansion, mainly by recruiting new talent in software development, sales and marketing.

QOCO helps airlines, MROs, and OEMs around the world to increase their operational efficiency with advanced SaaS solutions, driving the digitalization of aircraft maintenance operations and planning. QOCO’s clients include Rolls-Royce, Finnair and TAP Air Portugal, among others. Juuri is a private equity firm supporting the development and growth of solid, established Finnish SMEs.

NordicNinja

Dottir advised the lead investor NordicNinja VC in the EUR 36.5 million Series A funding round of Onego Bio. The round was participated by Tesi, EIT Food as well as previous investors Agronomics, Maki.vc, Holdix, and Turret. This is one of the largest early-stage startup funding rounds in the Nordics.

Onego Bio, founded in 2022, commercializes a method developed at VTT (Technical Research Centre of Finland), where the main protein of egg white, ovalbumin, is produced without production animals - in other words, egg white without chickens. With the new funding, Onego intends to focus on scaling its operations and entering the market with contract manufacturers.

NordicNinja is the largest Japanese VC in Europe, backing companies tackling the world’s carbon footprint with a focus on climate tech, deeptech, and digital society.

Verge HealthTech Fund

Dottir advised Singapore-based Verge HealthTech Fund in their investment in Sooma Medical, the leading provider of effective brain stimulation treatments for psychiatric and neurological disorders. Sooma’s EUR 5 million financing round was led by Voima Ventures and joined also by existing investor Stephen Industries.

With the new funding, Sooma is set to help more patients globally by accelerating product development and continuing rapid expansion into new and existing markets.

Verge HealthTech Fund is first VC fund investing exclusively, and globally, in impactful healthcare technologies at the earliest stages.

World Fund

Dottir advised the lead investor World Fund in the EUR 128 million Series A2 financing round of IQM Finland Oy, the leading European startup building quantum computers for HPC centers, research institutes and businesses across the continent.

World Fund is the largest European-focused climate venture capital fund. The round was also participated by Bayern Kapital, EIC Fund, OurCrowd, QCI SPV, Tofino and Varma, as well as existing investors MAKI, Matadero QED, MIG Fonds, OpenOcean, Salvia GmbH, Santo Venture Capital GmbH, Tencent, Finnish Industry Investment, and Vsquared.

IQM will use the funding to expand international business and accelerate product development, with a focus on developing quantum processors to help tackle the climate crisis.
