NordicNinja

Dottir advised the lead investor NordicNinja VC in the EUR 36.5 million Series A funding round of Onego Bio. The round was participated by Tesi, EIT Food as well as previous investors Agronomics, Maki.vc, Holdix, and Turret. This is one of the largest early-stage startup funding rounds in the Nordics.

Onego Bio, founded in 2022, commercializes a method developed at VTT (Technical Research Centre of Finland), where the main protein of egg white, ovalbumin, is produced without production animals - in other words, egg white without chickens. With the new funding, Onego intends to focus on scaling its operations and entering the market with contract manufacturers.

NordicNinja is the largest Japanese VC in Europe, backing companies tackling the world’s carbon footprint with a focus on climate tech, deeptech, and digital society.

Toyrock

Dottir advised Toyrock group in their acquisition of Ilmapallokeskus Balloon Center Oy, the leading importer, marketer and distributor of balloon and party items in Finland. Ilmapallokeskus is also owner of Juhlamaailma retail stores. For the current financial year their turnover is expected to reach EUR 12.6 million.

Toyrock is the leading marketer and distributor of toys, games and family leisure products in Finland. Evolver Fund I, controlled by Finnish private equity investor Evolver Equity Ab, continues as the largest owner of the Toyrock group. Dottir advised Toyrock group both in the M&A as well as financing of the deal.

World Fund

Dottir advised the lead investor World Fund in the EUR 128 million Series A2 financing round of IQM Finland Oy, the leading European startup building quantum computers for HPC centers, research institutes and businesses across the continent.

World Fund is the largest European-focused climate venture capital fund. The round was also participated by Bayern Kapital, EIC Fund, OurCrowd, QCI SPV, Tofino and Varma, as well as existing investors MAKI, Matadero QED, MIG Fonds, OpenOcean, Salvia GmbH, Santo Venture Capital GmbH, Tencent, Finnish Industry Investment, and Vsquared.

IQM will use the funding to expand international business and accelerate product development, with a focus on developing quantum processors to help tackle the climate crisis.

Knowit AB (publ)

Dottir advised digital transformation consultancy firm Knowit AB (publ) in its acquisition of the Finnish strategy, branding and commercialization agency Marketing Clinic. Marketing Clinic, established in 2004, has a strong market position in Finland and great reputation in the fields of management consulting, branding and customer insight.

Through the acquisition, Knowit strengthens its position in management consulting on the Finnish market and broadens its offering in growth and commercial strategy.

Tracegrow

Dottir advised Tracegrow, a company producing organic fertiliser from used batteries, in its EUR 1.5 million financing by Taaleri.


Tracegrow is the leading cleantech company for waste recycling located in Finland, driving the development of circular economy based on its patent protected breakthrough technology and low carbon products.
