Janne is a senior associate in Dottir's Tech & IP practice. He advises clients on a broad set of IT & technology law topics with particular focus on cyber security and data protection. His work covers regulatory compliance, IT contracts and helping businesses navigate legal complexities of emerging technologies.​

He is a board member of the Finnish IT Law Association and carries a CIPP/E certificate.​

Janne has wide-ranging experience on working with companies ranging from startups to multinational corporations as well as with clients from the public sector. He focuses on actionable advice on complex regulatory matters.​

Lindström Group

Dottir advised Lindström in their IT outsourcing where Lindström outsourced its End-User Services, IT Infra Services and Application and Maintenance Services. This high-profile outsourcing case included a full procurement, RFP and negotiation process. The outsourcing of IT services will support Lindström’s objectives to strengthen digitalisation and data management throughout their organisation.

Lindström is one of Europe’s leading textile service companies with over 175 years of experience in the textile industry.

The Insurance Centre

Dottir advised the Insurance Centre in the procurement of their new IT-system which handles statistics, research, and reporting of the Finnish Motor Insurers' Centre, the Finnish Patient Insurance Centre, and the Finnish Workers' Compensation Centre. Dottir provided assistance to the Insurance Centre throughout the entire procurement project, from the RFP-phase to the final negotiations with the chosen supplier.

The Finnish Insurance Centre is the central body of non-life insurance companies in Finland.

Newil&Bau

Dottir advised Newil&Bau, a next-generation housing developer, in its EUR 5 million growth funding. Investors comprise, among others, a number of family offices and unicorn founders.

Newil&Bau was launched in 2020 and reached EUR 80 million in residential apartment sales in 2022. By using the latest technology, Newil&Bau offers urban dwellers a beautiful and sustainable living experience. The company's next-generation housing product, that combines ecological homes with a digital platform and the services it offers, will be launched later this year.

Hyperion Robotics Oy

Dottir advised Hyperion Robotics in their EUR 3 million seed funding round. The round was led by Lifeline Ventures and participated by Impact VC Übermorgen, PC Rettig & CO Impact, Goldacre and Katapult.

Hyperion Robotics, founded in 2018, aims to transform the construction industry. The company is bringing a solution of automation and sustainability to the industry by combining large-scale 3D printing with low-carbon concrete.

Thanks to the funding, Hyperion will scale up its R&D capabilities and ramp up its software and materials technology. Hyperion will also take mobile 3D printing micro-factories global.

CapMan Growth

Dottir advised a consortium led by CapMan Growth in their investment in Tana Oy, a Finnish environmental technology company. CapMan made the investment together with Normet Group’s main owner Aaro Cantell and Elo Mutual Pension Insurance Company.

Tana specializes in manufacturing machines and equipment for the mechanical processing of solid waste. The company is a pioneer of using electrical control systems and artificial intelligence solutions in its equipment and has grown in recent years to a global market leader in waste pre-treatment equipment. With this investment, Tana aims for even greater growth.

CapMan Growth is the leading Finnish growth investor making significant minority investments in entrepreneur-led growth companies. This investment marks the first venture of CapMan Growth's new Equity Fund III.

Toyrock

Dottir advised Toyrock group in their acquisition of Ilmapallokeskus Balloon Center Oy, the leading importer, marketer and distributor of balloon and party items in Finland. Ilmapallokeskus is also owner of Juhlamaailma retail stores. For the current financial year their turnover is expected to reach EUR 12.6 million.

Toyrock is the leading marketer and distributor of toys, games and family leisure products in Finland. Evolver Fund I, controlled by Finnish private equity investor Evolver Equity Ab, continues as the largest owner of the Toyrock group. Dottir advised Toyrock group both in the M&A as well as financing of the deal.

Knowit AB (publ)

Dottir advised digital transformation consultancy firm Knowit AB (publ) in its acquisition of the Finnish strategy, branding and commercialization agency Marketing Clinic. Marketing Clinic, established in 2004, has a strong market position in Finland and great reputation in the fields of management consulting, branding and customer insight.

Through the acquisition, Knowit strengthens its position in management consulting on the Finnish market and broadens its offering in growth and commercial strategy.

YIT

Dottir advised YIT in their IT outsourcing, resulting in a strategic partnership with Tech Mahindra in which a significant part of YIT’s IT services will be harmonized and consolidated to one dedicated supplier. This high-profile outsourcing case included a full procurement, RFP and negotiation process. The partnership will support YIT's objectives to strengthen digitalisation and data management and improve the company's competitiveness.

YIT is the largest Finnish and a significant North European development and construction company. Tech Mahindra is a leading provider of digital transformation, consulting, and business re-engineering services and solutions.
